Step confidently into who you were created to be.

Let’s accept His invitation for more.

For years, I lived under the weight of shame, perfectionism, and self doubt. I used to believe that my identity was shaped by my past decisions rather than by the truth of how God sees me. I carried that weight with me into adulthood, until I realized I couldn’t keep living that way. I was exhausted from striving just to survive. I wasn’t fully awake—I was barely getting by, weighed down by hopelessness.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve lost yourself along the way, this message is for you.

Friend, you’re not broken—you’re just buried under expectations that were never yours to carry.

We live in a world that’s constantly shouting at us about who we should be—pushing us to measure our worth by how much we do or how well we keep up. But here’s the truth: you were never meant to do it all. Can we pause for a moment and have an honest conversation about who you were uniquely created to be?

5 steps to realign with who you were created to be.

1. Pause the Noise: What if we paused—just long enough to quiet the noise—and truly listened to Him, the One who knows us at a soul level? I know how hard that can be in today’s world, with all the expectations and responsibilities we carry as women. But if we don’t slow down enough to hear God’s voice, how will we ever discover who we are or where He’s leading us?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Try creating a 24-hour “Soul Sabbath”—a sacred pause where you unplug and simply be. This might mean stepping away from social media or anything that pulls your attention away from His presence. Ask yourself: “What noise have I been allowing to define me?” Give yourself grace in this space. As you slow down, things may surface that feel uncomfortable or triggering. Don’t run from them. Invite God to sit with you, to guide you, and to gently show you the next steps.

2. Reflect on what’s been buried: Freedom starts when you stop running from your story. I spent years of my life walking in shame because of past decisions I’ve made. I allowed the lies of the enemy to keep me hidden and afraid. I felt unworthy of anything good. But Romans 8:1 reminds us: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. What a beautiful truth! God is never ashamed of you. There is nothing you’ve done, or ever could do, that can separate you from His love.

Let’s journal: What lies have I believed about who I am? What or who am I allowing to define me now? What is the truth about who God says I am?

Psalm 139: 13-14 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

3. Reclaim your true identity: You are not your mistakes, your roles, or your titles. You are a daughter of the King. Things began to shift when I realized I was holding myself back from the very transformation I was praying for. By not allowing God to move fully in my life, I was only making things harder—living stuck, not Kingdom-minded, and far from the abundant life He promises. I wasn’t giving myself permission to truly experience His love, grace, and kindness. Instead, I kept interrupting His plans with my own—plans rooted in self-sabotage, criticism, and fear.

I let those toxic thoughts define me, and for a while, I wasn’t showing up as the woman God created me to be. I knew something had to change. I needed to make healthy decisions and treat my body with love and respect. So I leaned into my faith. I started to rediscover my worth—not in the world, but in Him. I began to care for my body, mind, and soul in a new way, rooted in love and not pressure.

That’s when it clicked: my identity is not in what I’ve done, but in what He says about me. I am loved and known by Him. And He desires for me to live in freedom, wholeness, and abundance.

Isaiah 54:4- Fear not you will no longer live in shame. Don’t be afraid there is no more disgrace for you. You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood.

4. Align with what matters: When you know who you are, you stop entertaining what you’re not. For me, this meant that I had to learn how to respect my body and treat it like a temple. I also had to learn what healthy boundaries were. I started letting go of what didn’t serve me anymore and focused on how I could live fully awake.

Psalm 16:6 The boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places for me; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

Create a Yes/No list: What am I saying yes to that’s pulling me off-purpose? What am I called to protect? Sometimes, we drift from our purpose because we’re doing too many things that aren’t ours to carry. When we say yes to everything, we unknowingly say no to the very things that matter most.

This is your invitation to pause and assess:
Where is your time, energy, and heart going?
What are you saying yes to that’s leaving you overwhelmed, burned out, or spiritually disconnected?

5. Walk it out in faith: Obedience in the quiet is the birthplace of true purpose. When I decided to say yes to what God has for me, my life changed. I remember clearly when I asked Him to show me what He wanted for my life. It was like He was speaking directly to me when I heard, “go and share your testimony so that others can be blessed by your story.”

Psalm 119: 133- Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.

Choose one aligned step to take this week. Pray over it. Take it even if it feels small or scary.
